Blossom Bistro
A short single-player cooking/merging game in which you run a small cafe. After years of working a monotonous office job you decided it was finally time to start your dream cafe. You moved hours away from the city to a peaceful village town and took out a loan for your cafe.
You managed to secure the loan however the bank stated that it must be payed of fully in one month or that they would take your cafe. You accepted the terms and began work on your cafe. Finally after 3 weeks work your cafe was ready to open. However you only have 7 days to pay back your loan.
This is a submission for the Cosy Spring Jam 2024. After not having touched game development in forever it was a great experience to be back making games and I had a great time making Blossom Bistro for the jam. Hope you enjoy and thanks for playing all feedback is also greatly appreciated.
How to Play:
Every day 30$ will be taken to pay back loan if you do not have 30$ you will lose the cafe. If you manage to pay off your loan completely you will get to keep your cafe.
You can get ingredients from your pantry by clicking on the buttons. You can drag and drop ingredients over pan, pot and knife to either boil, fry or chop them. Ingredients can be placed on top of one another to create different food items.
Food items can be dropped over bin to delete them. Place food items on serving plate that you want to serve to customer. Ring serving bell when you are happy that you have all their order on the serving plate.
Customers who are happy with their meal will pay 10$. Customers who are not will refuse to pay. You have 5 customers all who will ask for random meals and drinks.

hi!
i started playing your game this moring and i have to say this is extremely nicely built!
the scenes are easy to understand and dialogues are simple and nicely written!
i do have little suggestions to make to upgrade this game:
-change colors of the clients text when its a recipe, and use three distinct colors when orders are asked to help the player read the order faster
-use a list style order (i saw that sometimes when the name of the recipe is too long, it tends to look hard to read), it arranges nicely the order and makes it look cleaner to the eye!
-maybe add a page of recipes for basic ingredients such as meatballs, hashbrown, and other forms of ingredients for players that are non-english, as culture may differ the ways of cooking and it can be really time-taking to find the right way to cook an ingredient.
this is all for the reccomendations!
i also noticed a problem when i make the full breakfast meal as i cant put the sausage with the vegeterian breakfast, it just wont work.. please tell me if i did anything wrong while doing this meal!
your game is great i love it!!
have a nice day :-)
Thanks for playing my game and leaving such a kind and helpful review! Since I made the game for a jam I don't plan to return to the project it was more for a bit of fun and a learning experience. However if I ever to return to the game I will definitely add the features you suggested. I wanted to add more during the jam but ultimately I ran out of time and could not add everything I had hoped to add.
As for your problem with the full breakfast I'm not sure exactly its been a while since I worked on the game but I do remember there being problems with a few recipes.
Once again thanks for playing my game and leaving a review it means a lot :)
